THE NOTHING MECHANISM: Penelope 1:1

An incident, a horrible something, happened over seven hundred years ago. That horrible something almost destroyed all life on the planet. In recent centuries, as civilization has worked to rebuild and reorganize, this horrible something has come to be known as The Doomsday Incident.

So devastating was The Doomsday Incident that very little is actually known about the incident.

Approximately two hundred years after The Doomsday Incident, the majority of surviving people gathered together on a single land mass and established a kind of republic political system.

Approximately four hundred years after The Doomsday Incident, the State began a campaign of expeditions who’s task it was to find clues and information relating to The Doomsday Incident. These expeditions spread out across the globe, across both land and sea.



Captain Vadasz, of The Hope, one of the vessels amongst the campaign, was sure he’d uncovered a significant piece of The Doomsday Incident puzzle. He’d acquired a map that revealed a location. What was at this location? He wasn’t sure, but Vadasz, with all his heart, believed it was the final resting place of a very very significant clue.

Vadasz froze to death in his cabin, still clutching the box he’d found the map in.
